About Me

My name is JJ Hetherington and I am an architect, designer, builder, and creator of custom homes with over 25 years of experience. I started my career as a finish carpenter and graduated from Drury University with a degree in architecture in 1998. Through the years, I’ve designed and built hundreds of homes ranging from small bungalows to luxurious mansions.

I love my job. I love making dreams reality. I love the process of analyzing the build site, creating a final design from the client’s ideas, and guiding their dream through the complete build. Most of all, I love seeing smiles and tears of joy from my client’s faces when they live in the spaces we create.

In my spare time, I love cycling, hiking, whitewater paddling, fly fishing, micro brews, and anything that challenges me. You name it, and I likely enjoy doing it.

My Design & Build Philosophy

I prefer to think of clients as co-creators. My role is to listen to their vision and bring their story to life. I can’t do this by myself. There are many people involved that make a project a success from the carpenter, to the plumber, to the interior designer. I am only as good as my employees, sub-contractors and owners.
